The dream began in 2020, with a vision to create a lifestyle based around nature and the outdoors, enabling me to take part in my local community, and using my creativity to generate positivity and find in myself the space to approach every day with a new passion and enthusiasm for what it might bring.

Mavis Lane Flowers was born and grew from a small garage venture with a small box of floristry tools, into a studio workshop behind our cottage in the tiny East Yorkshire Village of Barmby on the Marsh.

What began as an outlet for therapeutic creativity is growing and evolving into a beautiful way to live, through creating bespoke flowers for our clients throughout Yorkshire, but more locally around our area of East Yorkshire including Howden, The Yorkshire Wolds, York, Hull, Selby & North Yorkshire. 2023 has been a particularly engrossing time, as I aim to become fully sustainable in my techniques and methods, playing my part in taking care of the planet and our local environment.

Named after a much loved and missed Grandmother, Mavis Lane Flowers aims to provide clients with a relaxed and personal floral service, delivered with care and professionalism, efficiently and cost effectively. We advise our wedding clients on how to get the most out of their floral designs, limiting wastage, and using locally grown flowers whenever we can.

We have many returning customers and clients, and create each design with the love and care we’d instill if it were for ourselves. I run workshops in the local area and further afield - I love to give the gift of mindfulness through a session of working with flowers. All my floral designs are bespoke and special to you - no matter how subtle or elaborate the design and quantity, and I commit myself to one project at a time to ensure a fully personal and dedicated service.
